"Our intelligent algorithm takes information each user gives us about his / her preferences on things like music, movies, games and personal habits, and analyzes that information to match users with each other" said Prerna Gupta, the company's Chief Executive Officer.
The algorithm uses advanced artificial intelligence techniques developed by Yaari's CTO, Parag Chordia, who has a PhD in the field, and also includes well-known methods such as collaborative filtering.
Yaari expects the new algorithm to establish the company as India's leading social dating site, which it sees as a significant opportunity against other social networking sites targeting the Indian demographic.
